Known internationally for its vastness, this is by far the most popular and spectacular ski area in Chamonix. Located at the lower end of the village of Argentière it is a 15mn
car ride from town. There's one black slope, a couple red, and 3 blue ones. But the best and the great skiing here is offpiste. If you go to the top with the cable car and take a good looking around, you will find hundreds of different routes down the glacier.
Splendid as it may be, remember that a glacier is not your common playground. Don't go where you feel uncertain of where to go. Book a local guide to ensure your safety and long lasting survival.
